Yes, Virginia ... there is a Santa Claus!

Square Card Snowflake with Candy Cane Glitter and Gems

I've been working on Christmas cards and gift tags lately - while the myriad paper crafting supplies are out - as it won't be long before they're needed.  I have so many things/possibilities that my sanity plan is to focus on one thing at a time and try my best not to get distracted. In this case the focus item is my supply of square cards, and the goal is to develop a few standard templates for different colour/theme variations.

Glitter Snowflake Embellishments

The leaves are just beginning to fall, but the days are still glorious here so I'm trying to get out and enjoy the lingering warm weather.  I know it won't be long until we're all thinking about Christmas though, and the shelves are beginning to include Christmas items, I noticed yesterday, so I can't keep thinking it's summer.

Frosted Snowflakes .. on parade!

I have recently begun to embrace an assembly-line approach to my Christmas ornaments.  Here are just some of the renditions I've made of my frosted snowflake beaded ornaments.  I'm focusing on my "posh beads" - gem encrusted bling beads, stripy resin beads, berry beads, polka dot beads, sequin beads and, in general, huge chunky lovelies - to accompany these pretty frosted snowflake pendants

Frosted Snowflake Beaded Ornaments

My friend Catherine posted the other day that it was down to double digits until Christmas.  Where has the year so far gone?  Time for me to get my skates on and back into the Christmas groove with my online sites and Etsy shop.  Won't be long until Santa is visiting - 96 days!

I've been trying to catch up today with some photography and posting on the shop so I thought I'd show you these pretty frosted snowflakes worked up into beaded ornaments.

I've added pearl gem stickers and shiny gem stickers to the snowflakes for a little more sparkle, and they feature some of my prettiest bead assortments.

With really chunky and sparkly beads this design is substantial, measuring a little over 6".  Wiring them on to whimsical spiral beaded ornaments is just the right finishing touch to make them truly special.

Get ready to see all sorts of variations of these little snowflakes - even I don't know how many I'm currently working on but there are lots, lots, lots.  All of them, of course, are my favourites.

Super Large Faceted Beaded Snowflakes

I've been back to trying my hand at the beaded snowflake ornaments.  This time, I thought I'd try a version with these fab super large faceted beads. They're 22mm in diameter and I have them in a number of colours.

Christmas Card Challenges - Anything Goes

It's anything goes week at the Christmas Card Challenges blog, so I really have to play along, don't I?  This is a bright rendition of a simple design for a festive Christmas card.  Neon bright might not be everyone's cup of tea but I love it.  Believe it or not, these are my kitchen colours - bright lime green and neon pink. For a Christmas card, if you think about it, it's just a slight slide on the hue spectrum from traditional Christmas red and green.  With a little bling on top for good measure.

A New Day ... A New Snowflake Concept

It's a new day around here on the blog, and a new day calls for a new craft activity.  Okay, well, snowflake ornaments aren't new, but these type of snowflake ornaments are new - to me.

Glittery Snowflakes in Red and Lime Green

Glittery Red Snowflakes with Pearls

We achieved some productivity yesterday, the cats and I, making up a few batches of glittery snowflakes, photography them, packaging them and posting on Etsy. Aren't these red ones festive?  I must say, the cats really aren't much help at these things - quite the opposite - but it's always nice to have their company, even if they do end up sparkling for weeks and helping to spread glitter about the house.

Shiny Silver Snowflakes

Wowza, talk about shine and sparkle!  Working on these silver snowflakes at my craft room table,  with the sun streaming in, I was tempted to put on a pair of sunglasses.  En masse, they were almost blinding with their shine, sparkle and close friend glitter.  I just love them.

Seussical with Large Diamond Dangles ... & Snowflakes

It's a drizzly day and there is a Doctor Who marathon on television. In short, it's a perfect crafting day.   Really with conditions like this I should be working on my Tardis Christmas Ornaments - I got some fabulous charms to work up - but I think those will wait for next week when the End of 10 will air.  I`ll need something to distract me from crying through the entire episode.

Instead, I`m working on these cheerful Seussical style large green diamond dangles. The striped lime green and white acrylic beads I got are perfect in combination with the shiny lime green acrylic diamonds and beads. A clear crystal faceted bead adds even more sparkle.   Having tried a few variations with these large acrylic diamonds, these are my favourite so far.

I`m also working on finishing up some of my larger snowflake ornaments.  I`ve embellished these with gems in colours to match the beaded hangers.  You know my theory on sparkle and glitter at Christmas - less is just less.

Shiny Christmas Ball Snowflake Earrings

Shiny Christmas Ball Snowflake Earrings in Red

More fun with Christmas earrings - this time in a more holly jolly, fun and festive mood.   I recently found these shiny metallic coloured beads in a variety of colours, and with etched accents that have almost a holographic effect in that they reflect many colours as they move.

Winter Wonderland Snowflakes

Beautiful glass 'confetti' beads really make these snowflake icicles

It was back to the snowflake ornaments yesterday - this time in Winter Wonderland variations.  Glass confetti beads are among my very favourites, and as I had the perfect shade of tiny seed beads to accompany them we were off and running.

Seussical Icicle Dangle Ornaments

Seussical Red and Lime Green Christmas Ornaments
Look at these fabulous beads!  Don't you just think they were made for Christmas decorations?  True, I think that of almost everything, but these beads especially.  Large red and white polka dots with lime green and bright white stripes - more holly, jolly festive they could not be!  These icicle style snowflake dangle ornaments are accented with white glass pearls and crystal, light gold and opaque white in a mixture of 6/0, 8/0 and 10/0 seed beads.

Snowflakes in Amber and Gold

Snowflake Ornaments with Lovely Gold Tone Beads and Embellishments

It's snowing again!  Back to the Christmas ornaments, and to the snowflakes in particular.    And, as I am trying not to string the words 'yellow' and 'snow' together, these are snowflakes in amber and gold!  Much more posh, don't you think?

Snowflake Blizzard

Snowflakes in Silver

It's a blizzard around here as I'm back to the snowflakes - and this time they are silver.  Trying to get back into the production groove I've worked up all of  my lovely large silver grey pearls.  I've actually used 4 sizes of silver grey pearls for a graduated effect and the all-important sparkly rondelle also in a silver grey colour.  I thought they looked dramatic and elegant on the shiny black paper.

Snowflake Gift Tags

I've been busy making gift tags!  They're so pretty that I think you could use them as ornaments on your tree - and I definitely can see the appeal of that as they would pack away nice and flat!

Large Sparkly Snowflakes

It's been back to the snowflakes again around here - and this time with a different larger version which is clear. They're quite pretty to begin with, and I've used them on my own trees, but they're positivey transformed when covered in loads of glitter.

Sparkle Snowflakes with Glass Bead & Rondelles

Looooook at these beads - aren't they pretty? The turquoise glass beads are about 18mm and have interesting flecks of other colours. The squishy looking Rondelles that I have recently discovered are perfect for an ornament feature as they catch the light from so many angles.

All that Glitters ...

It's back to some fun stuff - and this time it's snowflakes! Clearing out some drawers I came across a package of snowflakes left over from last year. These little guys were hiding, so they didn't get worked up into earlier renditions.

Glittery Snowflakes .. Meet Beads

I've been making snowflakes. Lots and lots of sparkly snowflakes.
