"Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies. ... Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world."

Yes, Virginia ... there is a Santa Claus!

Seussical The Musical Diamond Dangles

We get our design inspiration from all over the place and today's assignment was a super fun one for me ... to create a potential small ornament momento for cast members performing Seussical the Musical.  Great fun! The starting point for the concept was the shorter version of my button style dangles.

Any Aisle is Craft Aisle

Working on ... Beaded Diamond Dangles with Pretty Glass Beads
Most of us crafty types can be frequently found perusing pound shops, dollar stores and the various equivalents for bits and pieces that are essential and inspirational in our crafty pursuits.  If you can find components there, they'll be at fractions of the regular craft store prices,  The craft aisle regularly offers up new and interesting bits to get your creative juices flowing, becoming a fun challenge of "what could I do with this?".

Seussical and More Diamond Dangles

What a lovely week-end we're having.  Lovely blue skies and sunshine and just hot enough.  After last weeks deluge it is a lovely change.  This afternoon I took my beading out to the sunshine on the deck and added the beaded spiral hooks to some of my assembly line 'bases' .  Time to do some catch up.

Rainbow Bling Diamond Dangles

What an absolutely rubbish weekend it's been - weather wise that is.  I was meant to be doing a couple of craft tables at a local event, but as it was outdoors and as the heavens opened and drenched us for two days straight, along with high winds - that didn't materialize.  Since we've had so much rain, and the Pride Parade in Toronto this week-end (which the rain didn't seem to dampen), the subject is rainbows.

Holly and Berries Beaded Ornament

I've got a new variation on the holly and berries beaded diamond dangle ornament.  I made one last year, but this is an upscale version.  As I'm really taken with the beaded spiral hangers, I had to incorporate that element.

More Diamond Dangles with Acrylic Paint Splotch Beads

Acrylic Paint Splotch Beads in Purple

These icicle style diamond dangles are pretty and the possibilities are endless.  I have so many styles of beads that I'm looking forward to playing with.

Seussical with Large Diamond Dangles ... & Snowflakes

It's a drizzly day and there is a Doctor Who marathon on television. In short, it's a perfect crafting day.   Really with conditions like this I should be working on my Tardis Christmas Ornaments - I got some fabulous charms to work up - but I think those will wait for next week when the End of 10 will air.  I`ll need something to distract me from crying through the entire episode.

Instead, I`m working on these cheerful Seussical style large green diamond dangles. The striped lime green and white acrylic beads I got are perfect in combination with the shiny lime green acrylic diamonds and beads. A clear crystal faceted bead adds even more sparkle.   Having tried a few variations with these large acrylic diamonds, these are my favourite so far.

I`m also working on finishing up some of my larger snowflake ornaments.  I`ve embellished these with gems in colours to match the beaded hangers.  You know my theory on sparkle and glitter at Christmas - less is just less.

Paint Splotch Acrylic Beads in Diamond Dangles

Painted Splotch Acrylic Beads with Cats Eye Shiny Beads
Here are some more of my selection of fabulous beads.  I call them Paint Splotch beads and I have them in a lovely variety of colours.  They match so very nicely with these super shiny cats eye like beads that I've used before in my Cats Eye Beaded Ornament Hangers

Pear Gem Dangles

Pear Gem Dangles with Pearls, Faceted Crystals and Champagne Seed Beads
The lovely frosted champagne colour seed beads that I used in the hanger portion of these new gem ornaments were the inspiration for this version of my pear shaped gem dangles.  I have interspersed them with translucent seed beads in the same colour to make them stand out.  This started to remind me of champagne, so I kept the focal beads simple - the champagne bubbles in pearls and clear faceted acrylic beads.

Large Diamond Dangles in Lime Green

Back to the Christmas craft room for me today.   I have so many things to work up (lucky me!) that I'm trying to get on to a system ... diamond dangles ... snowflake ornaments ... beaded ornament hangers .... cards.  But yikes, I'm forgetting tree skirts, garland, gift tags, jewelry and so much more.  I understand why Santa employs so many elves.

A New Venture - The Craft Kit

Hooray, the first batch of my first lot of Christmas Tree Ornament kits are doney, and I'm already filled with lots of ideas for more craft kit options. I'm very happy with how the packaging has turned out and they are nice and neat for having bulky gems inside.

Pattern: Pear for the Partridge Diamond Dangle Christmas Ornament

This is the pattern for the third of the set of 3 sparkle gem Christmas Ornaments that I'm working up into kits - the Pear for the Partridge. The golden green colour and shape of the acrylic gem, combined with cream and lime green accents, work up to look like a pretty sparkly pear.

Pattern: Emerald Green Angel Diamond Dangle Christmas Ornaments

This is the pattern for the second of the Christmas Ornaments that I'm working up into kits - the Emerald Green Angel. The smaller diamond acylics work really well to make up the angel's body and wings.

Ornament Pattern: Lime Green Diamond Dangle Christmas Ornament

This is the pattern I've written out for the Lime Green Diamond Dangle Christmas Ornament which I put together as a craft kit, but  you can of course use any variations of your own ideas.
