We all know that Santa works hard on Christmas Eve, but we must not forget about the reindeer - they have a very busy night indeed flying Santa, his sleigh, and all those presents around the world.
To celebrate Rudolph and his reindeer friends, here is the first installment of fun Christmas ideas with a reindeer theme - Reindeer Cookies (or biscuits across the pond).
This is an absolutely brilliant idea. A gingerbread man cookie-cutter used upside down is the perfect base for a magical reindeer cookie.
Use your favourite cut biscuit recipe and decorate with icing and bits in your own creative way for a super fun Christmas reindeer themed treat. You can find the for royal icing at Megan's kitchen (photo left) and see more decorating variations on my Reindeer pinterest board.
Another cute reindeer themed cookie idea - using store bought cookies are reindeer oreo pops. The Oh Nuts! Sweet and Crunchy Blog has a wonderful post with the recipe and step by step instructions with lovely photos.
And be sure to visit And Everything Sweet blog's post on a Reindeer Party for little girls that featured these lovely reindeer pops and other fabulous ideas. Add a little ribbon and cello wrap and you have a cute sweet treat gift.
The same concept works with Nutter Butter cookies if you have them available. They have a super shape for a reindeer face - and chocolate and peanut butter is always a winner. Find the recipe at Family Circle.
