"Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies. ... Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world."

Yes, Virginia ... there is a Santa Claus!

Rainbow Bling Diamond Dangles

What an absolutely rubbish weekend it's been - weather wise that is.  I was meant to be doing a couple of craft tables at a local event, but as it was outdoors and as the heavens opened and drenched us for two days straight, along with high winds - that didn't materialize.  Since we've had so much rain, and the Pride Parade in Toronto this week-end (which the rain didn't seem to dampen), the subject is rainbows.

I have a new plan for this year's diamond dangle ornament variations and it's basically this - a shorter length on a beaded spiral hook.  While the longer icicle style is lovely, I really like this shorter version for a number of reasons.  It's a better size on a variety of tree sizes for one thing.  The perfect size for a smaller tree but still impactful enough for the largest of trees (you'll just need more!)

In addition to that I like the balance of the components. Rather than just the hanger for the ornament, the beaded S hook portion seems to become more a part of the overall ornament and hanging below the tree boughs adds a nice whimsical touch.  I love whimsy, as you may have deduced.

For this Rainbow Bling collection I've combined the sparkly bling beads, large lustrous creamy white pearls, faceted glass crystal clear rondelles all interspersed with silver ball spacers and tiny 10/0 crystal clear seed beads with the acrylic diamond dangles.  The S hooks are beaded with a cream wintery white. Tres chic, n'est ce pas?
